Corrosion mapping by ultrasonic testing is a popular method for in-service detection and characterisation of corrosion, erosion or wall loss morphology in pipes, tanks and vessels.
With increasing demand for on-stream measurements, corrosion mapping can be limited by the high surface temperatures encountered requiring expensive and time consuming equipment and solutions.
Here we demonstrate the HS582i dual element transducers suitability for corrosion mapping at temperatures up to 350 °C without the need for duty cycling, or cooling, additional training or equipment to significantly reduce the cost to alternatives.
